Terms & Conditions

This mobile phone recycling service is provided by Envirofone, part of Eazyfone Ltd (Company Reg No: 4155766) whose registered offices are at Guildford House, Heather Close, Lyme Green Business Park, Macclesfield, Cheshire, SK11 0LR. Eazyfone Ltd is a for-profit company. It is not a not-for-profit organisation or a charity.

Re-use and recycling

We work to substantially reduce the number of mobile phones that are sent to landfill sites. As mobile phones and their batteries contain several dangerous metals, including lead, cadmium, lithium and mercury, re-use and recycling helps protect the environment and save natural resources.

We provide a guarantee that all mobile phones will, wherever possible, be reused (in accordance with the WEEE Directive).

Your mobile phone

To receive the full value of your mobile phone it should:

  • Power-up (turn on) and be in a working condition.
  • Not have significant damage although may have some mild cosmetic damage (general wear and tear).
  • Have its battery (enclosed within the mobile phone casing).
  • Not be barred or water damaged.
  • Appear in our online guide.
  • Be of UK / European specification.

Any mobile phones sent to us that are not listed on the website and are over 4 years old will be automatically recycled appropriately. These mobile phones cannot be returned under any circumstances.

Wrong models

Each mobile phone which is received at our warehouse is tested for payment. If on inspection we find that the model you had traded in is not the same as the one sent to us then we will confirm the correct mobile phone by email for you to accept the revised offer. This can often happen where models of mobile phones look similar.

If we do not hear from you within 5 days we will automatically make this change and process your payment on the new model.

Damaged mobile phones

Envirofone can still pay you for your damaged mobile phones but the values offered will be less than those listed on the site. Damaged mobile phones should be traded in as normal. They are worth anything up to 70% of the full value. An offer will only be made once the mobile phone is tested.

Once the mobile phone has been received and tested we will contact you via email with a new offer. Where possible we will always offer a value for a damaged mobile phone.

If you do not inform us of your decision within 5 days of receipt we will automatically accept it and issue the revised payment in the form originally requested. Under no circumstances can mobile phones be returned after this period.

SIM cards

Please ensure you remove your SIM card before sending us your mobile phone as SIM cards contain personal details. Envirofone will not accept liability if SIM cards are sent with the handset and any charges are incurred before or after receipt of your handset. Unfortunately once we have received SIM cards we are unable to return them.

Memory cards

Please ensure you remove your memory card before sending us your mobile phone. Unfortunately once we have received memory cards we are unable to return them.

Payments

Where possible we endeavour to make all payments within 7 working days from the day your mobile phone has been tested and confirmed to meet our terms and conditions. At busy times of the year we cannot guarantee payment within this period. All payments are non transferable and Envirofone reserve the right to withdraw offers with no notice.

Payments will be sent to the name and address stored in your account.

Payment will be sent via 2nd class Royal Mail post.

From time to time we will change the offer values of mobile phones on the website with no notice. If you trade in a mobile phone we will pay the value on the date of trade.

All valuations include VAT at 15%.

Postal damage and loss

Envirofone does not take any responsibility for the loss or damage to mobile phones before receipt at our warehouse.

We strongly recommend that all our customers pack their mobile phones to minimise the risk of damage. The prepaid envelope does not guarantee that the mobile phone will be received in the same condition as when it was sent. In addition we suggest that all mobile phones sent to us come by Special Delivery. If your mobile phone is lost in the post we will advise you on the best way to make a claim against the Royal Mail but we cannot guarantee that this will be successful.

Returns

We are unable to return mobile phones that are sent to us and are accepted at full price or after a customer accepts a mobile phone value at a lower price.

Mobile phones will be returned to customers only if a lower price is offered and rejected. We send all returned mobile phones via Royal Mail recorded post. If the Royal Mail cannot deliver the phone(s) they are returned to our Head Office and we will contact you via email to check that your address details are correct. Once we receive confirmation that the address is correct we will resend the phones back to you. However, If we do not receive a response within 14 days the phone(s) will become the property of envirofone and the revised faulty offer value will be given.

Stolen mobile phones

We support CheckMEND, a crime protection database created to track stolen mobile phones. If we receive any mobile phones that are registered on their database as stolen they will be destroyed using our recycling partner unless proof of ownership can be supplied.

Suitable proof of ownership would be documentation such as supplier contract or written confirmation from the Police showing that the IMEI is incorrectly registered as stolen. The documentation would need to show that the matching unique IMEI number of the mobile phone traded is your property. Upon receipt of this information we can return the mobile phone to you.

If we do not receive such documentation from you within 31 days your mobile phone will be destroyed using our recycling partner.

Please note

  • We encourage the return of mobile phone boxes, battery chargers and accessories but they do not increase the value listed on the website.
  • We recommend that before you send your mobile phones to Envirofone that all data is removed prior to sending it in to us, for example personal details, SMS, photos, games, songs or other data ("Data"). Envirofone will not accept responsibility for the security, protection, confidentiality or use of such data. By sending your mobile phone to us you agree to release us from all and any claims, losses or damages with respect to the data stored or contained therein or on any media used in conjunction with the mobile phone.
  • All mobile phone trades are valid for a period of 30 days only; where possible we may be able to hold this price longer although Envirofone reserve the right to pay the current market rate for mobile phones received after this period.
  • Mobile phone values stated on the website are subject to change at any time without notice.

Envirofone is registered under the data protection act (registration no. Z9021570) and all customer data is handled in a secure fashion.
